Chairman Message
Dear Parents
As an enthusiastic stakeholder aiming at constant betterment, I am always on a lookout for the improvement of my school. I keep looking for opportunities to help the students of my school reach the level which is the same as the students of the best institute/schools across the globe. This endeavour of constant improvement keeps me motivated all the time.
During discussions with peers, educators, and parents, I inferred that most of the prominent schools around the world had common or shared vision. On deep diving further, I also came across the fact that most of the best international schools were following more or less similar practices despite being from different parts of the world. This triggered my curiosity further and I looked for the common aspects that made these schools truly ‘international’. The first point that I came across is the status of ACCREDITATION. Yes! All the top schools had ensured they secure accreditation before anything else. Accreditation is the hallmark of the quality given by an authorized and experienced third party organisation. It indicates that a school is eligible to provide quality education and has the capacity to meet the pre-defined benchmarks.
Similarly, National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) guides universities and colleges to operate as per the defined minimum standards and even go beyond these.
Similar to NAAC, there are other organizations also that work for schools. While studying these bodies, I came across the NWAC (Northwest Accreditation Commission).
What makes NWAC stand out is that, it is one of the oldest and renowned accrediting agencies headquartered in the USA. It has been guiding schools for a century and has helped them reach the mark of excellence with its support. During my discussion with them, I understood what makes them such a big name. Their approach towards the accreditation process is totally scientific and research-based. It is not easy to meet the levels laid down by NWAC and not many institutions have been able to get accredited by them. Around, 40,000 schools across 85 countries have been able to get accredited by NWAC, owing to its stringent and quality-oriented procedures.
Once I started with the process of accreditation for my school. The formal steps started and trust me every single step mattered a lot:
Every single step of the formal accreditation process mattered a lot.
The process of accreditation for my school started.
Initially, they planned an ‘on-site preliminary review’ for my school.
Once, this was completed to their satisfaction, only then NWAC believed that we were eligible for the next steps of the accreditation process and provided us the status of a candidate.
Next, they started with their formal guidance. In this they provided a set of school performance standards (documented version) covering over 3 primary domains namely, Learning, Leadership, and Resource.
I comprehended that accreditation is an ongoing process to sustain all-round superior functioning of the internal operations of an institute and is much more than just the paperwork of checklist and observation forms. As an ongoing process it boosts the intrinsic motivation to deliver nothing but the best to our students. NWAC School Quality Factors show us the right path and help us in doing what is in the best interest of our school.
This was not all, as an additional benefit NWAC also provided us access to ELEOT (Effective Learning Environment Observation Tool), which is the collection of world-class tools created by their top academicians. It helps us to gauge the effectiveness of the learning inside the school.
They also encourage us to strengthen the internal mechanism of the school by simple checks like filling questionnaires, conducting surveys and diagnostics, etc. All this is aimed at the betterment of the students eventually.
Additionally, NWAC also provides teacher and staff training to strengthen the overall setup of a school.
I am hoping that with all your support very soon we will also be accredited. And I am thrilled to inform you that NWAC has allowed us to offer an American High School Diploma to students, which is the same program that students study in the USA.
This makes us an ‘international school’ in every sense of the term.
Your ward is a part of our school and we are committed to provide him/her with the best of education following a 100% student-centric approach.
Accreditation is a process that drives us to deliver and sustain our top-quality leaving no stones unturned for the best education for your ward.
We aim at making each day count and also at making ourselves better with each passing day!
Regards
Mr. Pinakin Kamdar
